LG, thanks for pointing that one out...seems quite sensible to me, as a much more representative index of the overall economy. people are all gaga over the 'new' technology economy, but forget that tech is actually only slightly over 5% of GDP. it is however 25% of the S&P 500. admittedly tech's share of the economy has been growing fast in recent years, but it's importance in the bigger scheme of things is nevertheless generally overestimated. regards, hb
