Well, the presentation was decidedly upbeat. They have tons of FLASH capacity being phased in over the next year. I also liked all the talk about 0.13u, and it sounds like they have a reasonable time-line (to stay ahead of Intel) for its implementation. Talk of Athlon core tweeks and the inclusion of up to 2 Mbytes of onchip cache by late 2000 was good. The 900 Mhz processor demo form Dresden shows that they aren't having serious technology problems with copper, but a 1 Ghz dresden demo would have better show cased the benefit of copper over aluminum. I was disappointed by the lack of discussion of two topics: first, no mention of Sledgehammer and the 64 bit strategy, and second, no attempt to detail how Athlon will compete with Willamette.

With this report, the stock should be moving up (yet it is moving down this morning). I predict $27 by next Tuesday. Jerry said that 750 Mhz Athlon OEM boxes should be on available by the end of the year. I would expect an early December introduction announcement.
