In his favor, he can admit when he's wrong which is refreshing:

In an editorial published yesterday, The Union Leader said McCain should not take advantage of his war hero status to disobey Army regulations.

"The U.S. military has been scrupulous in distancing itself from politics throughout its history, but McCain crossed the line," wrote Bernadette Malone Connolly, the paper's new editorial page editor. "He, of all the candidates, should have had the military's best interest in mind.. . .

"The honorable thing for McCain to do would be to pull the ad and apologize for misusing military property," Connolly wrote.

Yesterday, the McCain campaign hand-delivered a letter from the senator to President and Publisher Joseph W. McQuaid.

"I read your paper's editorial today with great interest and, quite frankly, I believe Bernadette was right," McCain wrote.

That it took a newspaper editorial to make him see this is what disturbs me.
