>>most of the gap has taken place in 1999<<

For the past 12 months CYMI is the leader of the pack. I expect that will continue given CYMI's superior fundamentals.

Craig, I agree.

I have occasionaly made reference to CYMI's historical price ranging from 50-60% of AMAT's. We have lagged since the Asian crisis and have only recently started to catch up.

However, we are still approx $10 behind where we should be. Remember, two of the three factors driving AMAT's future growth will directly impact CYMI which has a current lock on the market. This should possibly argue for a higher multiple than 60% of AMAT.

With AMAT and ASML and KLAC exploding again, CYMI's action reminds me of a couple weeks ago. They exploded for a few days while CYMI held relatively constant. I stated that something wasn't right, that this might be the last opportunity to buy CYMI at $35, and then I loaded up on CYMI. A day or two after that, CYMI exploded for three days.

If this holds true again, then CYMI should break out tomorrow or Monday. However, if this doesn't happen, then I'll be somewhat cynical and blame it on the MM's trying to play games with options expiration.
