I am so cynical about the "analyst" community. Heard second hand of one analyst who downgraded a well known stock. Heard that a reason the analyst gave that this didn't happen sooner was to preserve some semblance of an investment banking relationship. I'm coming to think that this is probably the norm. So, don't think we're necessarily dealing with rocket scientists here. Virtually all of them have the investment banking dagger waved at them. Most of them almost never leave the office, except to go to the bank to cash paychecks.
