XOMA has changed their position slightly. The promise now includes the words, "as appropriate".

When will you disclose findings to the public? (11/99)
As is our policy, we will first present study results in peer-reviewed scientific forums, such as
presentations at meetings and articles submitted to peer-reviewed publications. Presentation or publication
of the results will be accompanied by news releases as appropriate.

O.K. I understand this, and that's fine. I think the intent is to provide press releases. So, I will try to mobilize mass complaints to the S.E.C. only when and as appropriate.

Martin says she will fax copies of Scannon's slide presentation to anyone with an interest in receiving them. He is not going to say anything new as the previous statement that they are not going to discuss the results, with outsiders, prior to meeting with the FDA.

Perhaps Jim franks on Yahoo had it right in referring to the comments made on Dr. Giroir's Lancet article.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

"I can fax Pat's slides to anyone on Monday, feel free to pass the word.
(Why don't some) believe us about the FDA? We said we can't say more about
the data until we meet with them, and we haven't met with them yet.
Ellen M. Martin
Director Corporate Communications
XOMA Ltd."

<<<<<<,

Words in (...) are not exact quotes but very close.

Given that anyone who wants to can obtain copies of the slides to be used in Austria, I see no reason to complain to anyone about selective disclosure. Oh well perhaps there will be other windmills just a short way down the road.

<<<<<<MYSTERY: COW TONGUES NAILED TO TREE IN NYC

New York City cops stumbled onto a grisly sight in a Bronx park yesterday: two
large cow tongues nailed to an oak tree. Making the scene all the more bizarre,
each footlong tongue bore a padlock through a hole at the tip.

Authorities haven't ruled out the possibility that the doings in the Bronx park
were part of some kind of ritual sacrifice, the NY DAILY NEWS reported, but they
believe it may have been intended as a message to someone.

"It appears that they are encouraging someone to be silent", said city parks
commissioner Henry Stern.>>>>>>>
