The numbers are too low. For DSL it's more like 1 million by the end of 99 and 2 to 4 million by the end of 2000.

For cable, the original estimates were 1 million by the end of 99 and were upped to 1.5 when the number was hit mid-year. I haven't seen 2000 figures.

When it comes to industry estimates, you have to check your watch, not your calendar.

A little off topic, but still pertinent, yesterday I was told there are 55,000 new email users every day. This from a CEO who's company does private-label email services for corporations.
