Let's see - MAT bought TLC and said it would add 50MM to the bottom line. Oops, turns out 6 months later that it would subtract 50 to 100MM from the bottom line.

It looks to me that there were probably two factors at play. First, Mattell didn't do the necessary DD to get a true picture of the company. Second, I'd bet that TLC did whatever they could to conceal the true nature of their business.

And now the two guys who were in charge of TLC are gone. Surprise, surprise. What other skeletons could possibly be necessary for them to get kicked out of the company?

It's obvious that someone had to go, and go quickly. Who better than those two? It may keep Jill Barad around another quarter or so.

I keep going back to the Snapple analogy. When it became apparent that it wasn't working out, Phil Marineau (I think he was the COO at the time) and others were shown the door.
It wasn't until later that the CEO was replaced, even though it was clear that his time was limited.

MAT share purchase offer - Have been out of town for a week plus and was not aware of the 11 million share purchase offer from Carnegie Investment for $14.35 per share. Have any of you received info on this?
