I was wrong about one thing, having just checked the release. It was only 1.25 million shares.

I have no certain knowledge that they shorted. However, I do know that this is a modus operandi for some big quick money. They bought for probably about 26 or so when the stock was 30 or 31. They might have taken on the risk of holding the stock naked, but I just doubt it. This is a little like Reg S placements. I have to say that I used to steer clear of any company that did Reg S placements.
