I miss your comments on the thread, however I know what stress and pressure can do to a family I commend you for putting them first. Good luck to you all.

When you have a minute one day could you please comment on the following from Jack Schwager's book "Getting started in Technical Analysis". I feel it is pertaining to todays parabolic rise in the US Stock Market and would like to hear any comments from you or the panel on this board.

Quote "As a result, many speculators have a strong predilection toward favoring the short side when a market trades at new high levels. There is only one thing wrong with this approach: it doesn't work. Why? Because a market's ability to reach and sustain new highs is usually evidence af powerful underlying forces that often pushy prices much higher. Common sense? Certainly. But note that the trading implications are exactly opposite to those of the "commonsense" BLASH approach." End Quote. BLASH = buy low and sell high.

Thanks, Probart.

Mark,

How Ironic as I decide to drop in so say hi you go on leave.

Lived an entire lifetime these past few months. Happy to be alive and well. Went through exactly the same battles.. trading/work/family/health.. One thing I have learned from it all is "how can I be EFFECTIVE in this area"?

On trading, it has finally occurred to me that if you are always in the right sectors and stick with your plan, holding for multiple days is better than intraday trading. I am sure you remember MCOM and OMPT.

Even when successful intraday trading, for how long can one do it without developing an ulcer? A superfast trading system is only really necessary if you don't plan your trades and an unplanned trade is usually an emotional one..

If you can make as much (perhaps more) doing other things with your time other than babysitting stocks, why not?? Can't think of a better definition of an addiction than intraday trading when it is not necessary. Effectiveness..... achieving the most in the least time.

Wish you well
Greetings to all
Rashid
