The crazy thing is that the Ethernet, developed by a team led by Bob Metcalfe (are you listening Neocon?), wasn't commercialized by Xerox either.

BTW, did you know that every Alto computer, which also was not commercialized, had Ethernet capability? Each user at named his machine; the man who was in charge of building the Alto named his Gzunda because it "gzunda the desk."
