t2-- ciena is transport and doesn't compete with the others you listed. In fact, Ciena is their customer. As a company CIEN has garnered great respect in the industry simply for being the early leader and surviving against NT, LU, and ALA. They've made some audacious acquisitions that, again, were ahead of the pack and have positioned them well for the metro market. They're already well-positioned in long haul. I don't know any other players except FIBR and I posted somewhere else I wasn't impressed with them at all. However, if they do have a viable product, they could be a buyout candidate. Pure speculation on my part. Pat
