<in regards to the graphical interface, i hate typing a message on my cell phone,if gm can figure out how to compose a message from voice to text, i think it would be a huge advantage to the wireless market. >

Yes, it would be good, but is it really so hard to record a wav. file? Is this the only advantage Portico offers?

If you can get all the Portico information in a Graphic form, and for messages you have to either make a recording or use the typical 10 key entry for short messaging, then how do you feel about the need for Portico?

Also, if you have a revolutionary industry standard with hundreds of equipment and software developers building web sites and software for graphic interface using the WAP standard, how does this compare to a limited system by GMGC with only GMGC to support it with new content and innovation? WAP will have signed up nearly 100% of the Telco operators around the world in less than 1 year.

All new cell phones will come with Internet enables on them, often having a printed button on it to do all the functions. You will have a more complete sense of identity allowing much more secure transactions, which will over come GMGC's unsolved problem of secure transactions. You'll be able to trade stocks, check bank accounts, read maps with GPS, buy a drink from a vending machine (Bluetooth), and whatever other thing you can imagine.

Quickly, Portico becomes a useless product by comparison to what it does not offer. Elements of what it does offer are still valid, but not enough to compete against WAP. I think their only choice is to try to get a partner, quick. Nothing could be better than a deal with Nokia for example as they do have some competitive products to Phone.com.

Finally, I don't have phcm anymore. Sold after a 70-point gain in 7 weeks. Thought is was too crazy and hoped for a pull back, which never came. Could have made another 120 points if I had held on.

Here's a company with 6 million a quarter in sales and a 12 billion-dollar market cap. So, how does that compare to GM? I say that only to mean, the market thinks the handwriting is on the wall and this format will succeed.

Regards,

Mark
