Ike, my baffled, kneeling brethren. <g>

Take a look at charts for some of the high-tech darlings of the fall of 1987 (Apple, Soft, Intel) and compare them to the chart of the DJI for the same period. What you will see is a similar divergence to what exists today - the tech stocks were up 50+% in a matter of weeks (sort of a pinnacle of greed) and the rest of the market was flat at best.

I have never been one for calling for a crash or matching up charts to predict future events but the similar divergence is eerie and cannot be ignored. The next thing that occurred in 87 was a key reversal day which set in motion a chain of events.

I am not saying that this is what will happen now by any means but, if it were to EVER occur, events are lining up in that direction and NO ONE expects it (except Luc). The thing that would change this for the positive would be for the broader averages to catch up and the Dung to go sideways for a while. However, the HORRIBLE breadth today makes this look rather unlikely. This market is a tinder-box waiting for a spark.

Sorry for the rambling post, I am just as baffled as you are.

Regards, Ken.
