"Valley not Alley or maybe..."

I think that it would worth noting here that Silicon Valley was first settled by some ex-bellheads, led by Shockley who founded Shockley Semiconductor in the late Forties.

Shockley, of course, is one of the team of inventors from Bell Labs who contributed the transistor, the most voracious of all time consumers of silicon. I couldn't help it, Curtis.

This factoid was one of the few things of any value that I was reminded of while watching TV during the past couple of months.. something I find myself doing less and less of, as time goes by. Maybe George Gilder was right about TV, afterall. -g-
