Jopawa, I thoroughly enjoyed an educational four hours yesterday at the OpenSystems99 tour stop in Charlotte, NC. In a Hilton Hotel, which it appears is LonWorks configured, the presentation by John Morris, Senior Director Channel Sales Echelon - Americas, and the food were excellent. The purpose is to lay out the benefits to potential customers in the building controls industry. With a really smooth powerPoint slide show, a number of points which had been confusing to me finally came together. Mr Morris raffled off a palm Pilot and a Compaq portable, and ten t-shirts. I understand that this was funded by the LonWorks Partners who benefit by having the source of the Lon technology to which they are committed, spell it out for the architects, consulting engineers, building owners, and operating engineers so that these people will be comfortable in specifying the LonTalk Protocol exclusively in both new and retrofit building construction bid requirements. The LonPartners who were there really have their hearts in it. They just radiate enthusiasm! We can expect a launch party for the iLON 1000 on 30 November in conjunction with the LonWorks partners. I also learned today that John Chambers is to headline the Comdex Show on Tuesday with a pitch on the future of the internet. I'd be delighted to see a repeat of our January ELON explosion, although an improvement of a mere 1/8th point per day for the rest of my life would be okay too. As encouraged as I feel about Echelon, I am still schizophrenic about 01012000 and will resist putting all my money into it just now. Bill
