People are anticipating earnings which exceed even the whisper number, and most likely a split announcement. These are not the only factors driving the stock. Numerous brokerages have made extremely bullish statements of late, in addition to AMAT itself.

My broker ( who knew Applied when it was in a garage in the East Bay and whose basis in the stock was 1$ - no kidding!-)
states this is going to be a Fortune 500 company. I am certain he is looking for alot more than the current 100+ on this stock. Will sell prior to split and buy back.

p.s. The H Robert is out of the closet - he has always been an AMD fan.

Not trying to be sarcastic; but, what is the significance of saying the 17th for a split announcement? I'm, also, looking forward and expect this to happen. Long on AMAT.
