I'm not sure how far along MSFT is in the area of telecommunications software. This is going to be one very tough place to dominate. MSFT is facing competition that has a lot of experience and marketing savvy. We're talking Nokia, Qualcomm, Ericsson, Motorola, to name a few. You can be sure they're looking into all aspects of the next generation of wireless telecommunications, which is going to be incredibly huge, and so far none of them (that I'm aware of) is looking MSFT's way.
