Greenspan only needs to keep the bubble alive through late spring. That's when his term runs out and he can retire and let the next in line take the fall when the inevitable crash occurs. Greenspan is only human. He's made a very rational choice: to sacrifice the economic well being of a country of 270 million people so he doesn't get booed at parties. Gotta love him.
