Umesh Tiberwal's vSplash set to change the DNA of web design

vSplash to offer branded web tool

HYDERABAD 11 NOVEMBER

WHAT comes to your mind when somebody mentions e-mail, asks Umesh Tibrewal, 27-year old fresh marketing graduate from University of California, himself supplying the answer "hotmail" to that seemingly silly question.

But the apparent triviality stops then and there. "Is there a similar brand in web design industry," Mr Tibrewal becomes animated and serious, 'no'. There is no branded web design. We at vSplash.com want to change the DNA of the web design."

As founder and CEO of Hyderabad-based vSplash.com Ltd, the India's first web communication tools startup, Mr Tibrewal, says that his company would be able to grab the first mover advantage in the untapped and growing Internet market with its integrated web solutions set. It is strange that even in the global scenario, branded web designing is not available and concept of branding has not picked up even though more than 2 million pages are being created per day, Mr Tibrewal says. "The web design involves three critical aspects of IT, strategy and creativity.Till now, there has not been a perfect blend of these three elements and that is the reason a brand could not be created. vSplash plans to marry these three key aspects to offer utility service over the web and online web page creation tool taking wide diversity in requirements into consideration," he adds.

The tool offers "comprehensive, innovative and simple resources for website creation, design, hosting and management," he claims. One can walk along the "even magical steps" on www.vsplash.com to create and preview his or her own website. "We created our web interfaces by integrating customer intelligence and design style."

More than 4000 person-hours of software development has gone into 30 sections and over 200 sub-sections, which include each imaginable design requirement of lifestyle, business and pastime.

The branded web design tool being offered by vSplash, named vKit, is also a cost-effective solution, he says.

While a typical webpage designing requires between US $1,200 and $1,800, vSplash is determined to offer its service at sub-$100 level. Using vKit, one can set up a virtual business, create a family site to keep in touch with relatives and post resumes.

"The tool opens possibilities for everybody -- currently in 14 categories including business, family, kids, job seekers, media professionals, etc," he adds.

The company is offering a free posting on 300 search engines, in addition to listing on its own yellow and white pages.

vSplash expects a user base of over one million within the first year of operation. It is planning a massive marketing effort to disseminate the benefits of branded web design.
The soft launch of the product in India was done at India Internet World during September and its global launch is scheduled for the next month.

The product is currently available in six international languages and is proposed to be upgraded to six languages more.

"Marketing a product in the global market is such a risky job that requires about $5 for each $1 you spent on product development. However, we are optimistic about marketing our product," he says. (ET)
