Here is a bit of analysis from a very long term lurker.

I just spent the last week in Tokyo and monitored the cell phone usage. Pedestrians, most of the population, had usage rates around 2-5%. The phones were available for sale everywhere. The CDMA-One phones sold for around $68 and the other phones sold for around $10. (By usage rates I mean # ON the phone)

As a shareholder it was a joy to see the number of CDMA phones in use. Each was inscribed with "Digital by Qualcomm"
These phones were what Tero must dream about. 68 grams, flip top, multi colors, tiny.

Two disturbing issues, phones are not allowed to be used by drivers, and there are signs on the subways against phone usage.

I guess to apply for the vacation effect, I should have declared my vacation first, but I sure enjoyed the behavior of the market in the last week.
