I am glad that I could give a little smidgen back to what you have provided to the thread with GMST. As I respect your due diligence asnd command of business models, I await your scrutiny on WIND with baited breath (yes my breath smells like bait).

I do not think that WIND has been blessed with visionary leadership a la Henry, but hopefully this will change with the new CEO. I like the move of taking out the next biggest competitor (INTS) even if there is a difficult cross over in the two operating systems.

See ya

Voop

A follow-up about business model from thread re WIND

From what I understand, WINd's business model for VxWorks and IxWorks is predicated on run-time royalties and if memory serves me right, they range from around $1.50 to $5.00 per unit, according to a recent Jerry Fiddler quote, the source of which escapes me at the present time. And for the Tornado tools and TMS, it is based on a license fee.

So recurrent royalties from RTOS, Tool developments a one lime license.

Thanks to Karim for clearing this up, who has turned the fan on WIND for this thread.
