PSEM rolls out another leading edge product. This also moves them into another product area (SAN), further reducing their dependency on the PC business. SAN is a very rapidly growing area as demonstrated by the super growth of such stocks as ANCR and Brocade. I see this as a great move for PSEM.

SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec 14, 1999 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Pericom
Semiconductor Corporation (Nasdaq: PSEM), a leading supplier of high-speed and mixed signal integrated circuits, today announced a new product family from its SiliconClockdivision, the SuperClock family.
The SuperClock family consists of 3.3 and 5 volt programmable skew, low jitter, phase-lock loop (PLL) clock buffers targeted at high-performance storage equipment, networking and telecommunications
applications, such as the booming market of SAN (Storage Area Network).

Pericom's SuperClock family sets new standards in Programmable Skew Clock Buffers' speed (125MHz). The clock buffers also let designers minimize undesirable signal effects such as cross-talk and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). Each output can be hardwired to one of nine delay or function configurations while the delay increments are
determined by the input clock frequency and the configurations are selected by the user.

"Pericom's SuperClock with its breakthrough speed and configurability, gives designers a clock buffer solution that addresses today's most challenging board layout design problems in networking, telecom, and other applications. In addition, Pericom's programmable skew clock buffers are the most programmable and fastest in the industry," said
Sergis Mushell, Pericom's SiliconClock product marketing engineer.

Growth forecasts in Pericom's targeted markets project a solid growth for the communications, networking and WAN markets. According to Cahners In-Stat Group the growth for semiconductors in communications equipment is expected to grow 23 percent for the next three years, growth for networking hardware is expected to be at 17 percent in 1999,
and growth for high-performance WAN gear is expected to reach 35 percent in 1999.

SuperClock Clock Buffers Each clock buffer incorporates four pairs of programmable skew and zero propagation delay outputs that provide the timing delays necessary to optimize high-performance clock distribution circuits. They provide the highest degree of design flexibility offering user-selectable outputs that include multiply by two and four, divide by two and four, invert and non-inverted options. The clock buffers also enable the REF (Reference) clock input to perform spread spectrum modulation, that reduces EMI. SuperClock's specifications include skew control guaranteed to 250 ps (picoseconds), with
selectable skew between outputs from 750 ps to 18 ns.

Pericom's programmable skew clock buffers, consists of the "SuperClock" (PI6C3991, and PI6C991), "SuperClock "(PI6C39911, PI6C39912, and PI6C9911), "SuperClock Q" (PI6C3Q991 and PI6C3Q993), and "SuperClock E" (PI6C9911E). Each subcategory of SuperClock consist of 3.3 and/or 5
volt parts with frequency's ranging from 3.75 up to 125MHz. The SuperClock family is available in industrial and commercial operation temperatures. (See Table 1. for a complete product listing.)
