Cirruslvr,

<Like Vantis which would be still owned by AMD, except with a separate tracking stock, or making Flash its own entity?>

In today's IPO environment, I like a spin-off (own entity) the best.

A good second alternative would be a outright sale to Atmel. That should make Atmel the #1 flash player. (I own both Atmel and AMD, so I will be happy).

I wouldn't rule out Cypress either. They need to have flash to be succesful in the SRAM+FLASH biz. Right now they have a partnership with Intel and if Intel does SRAMs (to make up for the CPU biz shortfalls) CY could be toast. [I own CY too, so I don't mind this option either ;-) ]
