Cirruslvr, re: < panic_mob - RE: "We think Intel and AMD can live together," Joseph said."

Who DOESN'T think that??? >

Yes. It'd also keep the crucial technology IP here instead of driving it to overseas(ex:Cyrix).

Random thoughts

Prior to the previous few weeks I was wondering when the stock would hurry up and go up so I could sell it because I had no idea what next year would be like, what was in the pipeline, how business was going, and basically what the future of AMD was like. All I knew was that AMD was making Athlons at a good rate and that Flash was a nice business to be in at this time.

But how things have changed. Now, I am actually looking forward to holding AMD into next year. I now know what versions of AThlons AMD expects to have out, I know Flash is having an even bigger impact than previous guidance (although I was told that earlier), and I know AMD is meeting and/or beating its previous guidance. This has drastically alterded my view of the Company and stock.

Next year could be a VERY nice year, but I keep reminding myself AMD has the potential to screw up like it has the potential to rise up. I have watched and held the stock go up to $30, down to $13, up to $33, down to $15, and now back up to $28. Knowing AMD can still screw up still lingers in the back of my brain when I think of where it is right now. I don't like having to hope noting bad has happened to AMD if I don't have access to news for a few days. I don't think this thought will leave my brain until I see AMD have a clean Dresden ramp up, maybe as good as in Fab 25. Until then, I think everyone should still be reminded AMD is NOT a sure thing.

Despite this thought in the back of my brain, I have the highest confidence of the Company that I have ever had and I look forward to how big this Q's profit will be.

Since this is titled random thoughts, here is the random part - Ace's says AMD's leff is now 12 whatever. Is that good?
