Does anyone else fell the need for having back up ISP's to daytrade? In my New Orleans neighborhood, I could actually have BellSouth ADSL and Cox@Home.

But BellSouth ADSL has been pretty darn reliable.

It seems Q Charts/eSignal and the various E-brokers crash more often than the ISP's.

Hi Eric,

Been lurking on the thread for awhile and just wanted to
give you my 2 cents worth on OS systmes.

I was having all kinds of trouble with my system until my
husband took off windows (98) and installed NT.

Made a world of difference, it has been about 8 months and
only time I have had trouble is when my daughter shuts down my machine. (gg)

I run real time quotes from satalliet feed, and also a real time option program, plus the internet. May want to give NT some thought.

DM

Eric,

I would highly recommend moving to WinNT. I couldn't imagine day trading on a win98 box, way to unstable for me. I have been running Winnt at home for a couple of years. Just an estimate, but I think I have had to reboot my machine because of lock up a total of 3 times in the last year, and that was because of a diplay driver problem. Just make sure everything you buy is on Microsoft's hardware compadibility list and you are guaranteed rock solid stability. Scientist use it because of the stability, day traders shouldn't be any different. Unless of course, you move to Linux..
