Rande and Friends: I traded Land's End (LE) Thursday on the huge drop from $83 to $56. I traded it twice from around $56-57 to $61-62. However, I took some time to read the news surrounding the drop. Talk about an over-reaction! The company had announced that they were going to try to reduce duplication of catalogue mailings and that there was a possibility they would miss some customers in Q4. The stock has a beautiful chart and has been on a nice roll. I guess the momo players saw that possible Q4 miss as a boo-boo and left the stock en mass. In the fury of the exodus, the real news that they actually beat the earnings by 3 cents (.28 act, .25 est)was ignored. They also had a blow-out quarter last quarter and made .14 while only .01 was expected. At today's close, I doubled-up my last buy and decided to hold for the expected full swing.
I think this is good for at least a 10 point recovery within the next week. It reminds me of TYCO which dropped from $55 to $36 two weeks ago. I bought @ $37.50 on the way back up and it closed over $44 yesterday.
