The article shows a link between Chalem and the Russian mob. Recall that Chalem owned Allen's Acres motel in Hampton Bays, NY. Chalem supposedly sold it to Clean-X-Press, a dry-cleaning business in San Francisco, CA, for $2.4 million, which, in turn, would lease it back to him. The brokerage that was behind the pumping of Clean-X-Press was Global Strategies Group Inc., also out of San Francisco. According to the article, "Another federal indictment released as part of last week's bust names Global Strategies Group Incas a firm with branch offices involved in a scheme linked to the Colombo crime family and the Russian organized crime group Bor."
