"Since no one is making more money, there won't be any envy", said the workers. " envy ", a word/concept that does not translate well to American English. I encounter this envy concept over and over, working in Democratic-Socialist Scandinavia, EuroLand. You and I understand what this means but, it would be difficult for us to explain to Americans. Would you like to work just 35 hours a week, and still get paid for 39 ? ...what a brilliant subterfuge! What a perverse persuasion for productivity in the context of social idealism. Kinda like, "How would you like it if we raised the minimum wage base for everybody by $1.00 per hour ?" ...and the American workers said, "yes". IOW, since Union dues are a % of wages, would you like to give more money to organized labour ? ...and the American workers said, "yes". Sneaky, those American Unions (^_^) -Steve
