Herc,

Either people on this thread are extremely civil and polite, or CTXS does not evoke strong feeling on the long side at these levels.

Definitely the former.

Instead of using the term "feeling," substitute the word "conviction." For those who don't believe in the long-term growth of thin- (thinner?) client computing, Citrix is not the company to own a piece of. For those who do believe in it, it might be the best company to have in the hip pocket.

Regardless of which side of the fence the conviction lands on, there's no reason to be emotional about it in the sense of strong feelings. We respect and welcome your right to an opposing view.

As for the current price of the stock, Citrix has a history of being volatile with huge price swings in both directions on no particularly significant news.

I don't have enough knowledge of effective short-term strategies to know if your short is a good idea, but I think all of us wish you good luck with it. Feel free to borrow shares in my long position because it will stay that way for a very long time.

Herc,

If at some point you bring up some substantive arguments against Citrix, I'm sure it will elicit more response.
