08:39 ET Market Indication : S&P futures rally in response to retail sales report. Current level of the contract suggests Dow advance of approx. 90 points at the open. 08:37 ET Ciena Corp (CIEN) 49 7/16: Telecom equipment maker's shares surge more than 5 pts in the last hour of trading amid rumors company being eyed as takeover target by Cisco (CSCO). Ciena shares trading flat in 3rd-market this morning. 08:31 ET Economic Reports : Retail sales were unchanged in October but rose 0.5% excluding autos. The total figure was weaker than expected but the ex-auto number was a bit stronger. The good news, however, was the stronger than expected 4.2% surge in productivity growth. Stronger productivity growth indicates that noninflationary growth can be sustained and reduces the Fed tightening risk.
