The idea of selling into a gap up. . .is to reduce your risk, should the bears take over the day. . .like they well could today. Then you wait for a clear bottom and REMEMBER to buy back your shares at a cheaper price. . . this is a way to make money, without holding the stock. . .the lower it goes, the cheaper you buy, the cheaper you buy the more cash you have leftover after buying back the same number of shares you sold at the top. . . . of course this is all provided you have the intention of holding the stock long or as a position. A few of these recent skyrockets are not worth holding over the weekend.

Getting a feeling that the SPOOS was painted higher by bears ready to move in and take positions on the gap up. . . I will be selling partial positions into gap ups on many issues for defensive strategy.
