Hi Ken - obviously, we outsiders do not know what's going on in the innermost part of NT; however, I doubt it. Here is why:

1) both NT and CSCO have deep enough pocket to run multiple product lines. So, it doesn't make sense to fight optical with router biz, even if they belonged to the same division.

2) more, ONI is a totally separate co., with CSCO only one of the backers. The two are as separate as they can be. The alleged strategy is like Benz rolling out a product line against BMW with the intention to stop Ford from hiring away Chrysler's designers. Any episode of X-file makes more sense.

3) ONI can continue to open the checkbook to hire away people from LU and NT. NT's injunction against ex-employees to use NT's trade secrets will remain in force. So, OIE will not have an iota of effect whatsoever against CSCO optical push, much less ONI

best, Bosco
