Scot - RE: "-- PaineWebber revised fourth quarter revenue estimate to $900 million from $700 million on better-than-expected outlook.

-- Raised fourth quarter EPS estimate of a 54 cent loss to a slight profit of 2 cents."

His profit estimate makes no sense. If AMD says their breakeven for the Q is 850M and this analyst's estimate is 900M revenue, AMD would make much more than 2 centsa share, more like 34 cents per share.

Also, his price target is $25, below what it is right now. I assume his target is based on valuation, not what the current stock price is now.

<PaineWebber said it raised its price target for Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NYSE:AMD - news) on Friday to $25 a share from $16 a share>

Talk about looking at life in a rear-view mirror!

<-- PaineWebber revised fourth quarter revenue estimate to $900 million from $700 million on better-than-expected outlook.>

Well, someone seems to share my thinking that revenues will be around $900M

<-- Raised fourth quarter EPS estimate of a 54 cent loss to a slight profit of 2 cents.>

Interesting spreadsheet that gives 2c profit on $900M revenue. Does anyone know what this guys assuptions are to get this low earning at $900M?

<-- Raised 2000 earnings estimate to 80 cents to $1.00 a share, from its previous estimate of 40 cents.>

Way too light.

2 cents profit on $900 million revenues!

Has this idiot paying attention to what is going on? The "ceiling" for the break even point has been set to 850 million. At $900 million revenues, we should be looking at $0.50 earnings.
