John...I think you are right.

Never trust an analyst. They have an agenda. They know that day traders jump all over momentum stocks and a few kind words about the sector helps to support the stock price while they are dumping some.

It wouldn't surprise me if this is the beginning of a rotation out of semis (into financials...see the bkx index today). They'll take their profits...and as the other day-trader/momentum investors get out because of lack of momentum...the analysts will be accumulating the shares (at much lower levels) and they will once again come out with bullish calls.

BTW...the sign of a rotation out of semis will be characterize with bouts of selling...prices will recover....only to be met with more selling (institutional selling).

Wash-rinse-repeat.
