See my previous note on the product. I can think of two reasons that they are taking off. In the 3Q conference call they said that they would be introducing their product later in 4Q. Here it is later in 4Q. Maybe they are introducing it and some one is noticing. This is the good healthy reason and I am very hopeful that this is the one.

The other reason is more obscure. NextLevel (NXTV) went public on Wed at $20 something. They shot up to the $50's. If you have a long memory, you will remember that NextLevel was BBT's only competition for Switched Digital Video, winning a now long forgotten (and worthless) RFP at NYNEX and doing Phoenix in SDV for US WEST. Why anyone would pay anything for NXTV is beyond me. GI bought them, then got tired of the bleeding and spun them out with $75 M in debt. In addition, DSC and BBT both won law suits against them. Now they are public and the use of the funds according to the filing?? - to provide employees with liquidity. That means they can sell their stock and move on. First Raynet, then BBT, now NextLevel: it is required that a new FTTC/SDV product be hyped every threeyears and someone loose $500 million. The new twist for 2000 from NXTV will be that it happens twice to the same company, first GI and the VCs, now the shareholder who bought (and hold) the IPO.

But if NXTV is worth $50 per share in this market, why not BBTK?

Looks like we ran out of steam, I was lucky to unload 60% of my shares yesterday at 5.125, the balance this morning at the open. Good luck to those who remain onboard.
