The new campaign may strike some as corny or trite, but with all due respect, it's not pitching to developers who already get it, and its highest goal is not to be cool.

IMO it's pitching to their managers and small/midsize company CIOs, and that might mean something quite different than what would appeal to the more technically savvy people on this group.

Does it work for doing that? I don't know, but at least the principle of trying to distill a message into one or a few memorable words is reasonable. Apparently messages like "Where do you want to go today" are effective.

The message doesn't have to be something that *developers* would buy, cuz sadly they often don't have the final say. And those that do presumably are savvy enough to look a little further than the marketing campaign.

In fact in these days, can you even imagine a campaign that would actually appeal to both groups?
