NEWS! GT&E CONTRACT Expected to EXCEED $3 MILLION!
Microtel's CXR Telcom Subsidiary Announces Approval and Execution of Multi-Year Contract With GT&E; Expected Revenue Over 3 Year Period Should Exceed $3 Million

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 16, 1999--
MicroTel International Inc. (OTCBB: MCTL) ("MicroTel") today
announced that its CXR Telcom subsidiary, located in Fremont CA, has
been selected by GT&E Corporation, to provide our new 704A-400
innovative hand-held, integrated analog/digital test instruments.
Expected revenue over a 3 year period should exceed $3 Million. These
universal test instruments are ideally suited to serve the large field
service technician market. In view of the explosive growth of bundled
new analog and digital services which includes ADSL, xDSL and ISDN,
and the ever increasing competitive pressure from new CLEC service
offerings (Competitive Local Exchange Carriers), the widespread
deployment of CXR's new multi-function instruments are expected to
greatly enhance customer service response time for all GT&E operating
companies throughout the U.S., Canada and other GT&E locations on a
worldwide basis.
Erv Stein, Vice President of Sales for CXR Telcom, stated "These
innovative combination test instruments are rugged, user friendly and
cost effective, and combine a host of critical test functions. They
are a light weight, hand-held instrument that would otherwise require
multiple instruments to perform the same tasks." "Based upon extensive
user feedback we believe the new test sets have resulted in improved
service response time and overall customer satisfaction, which is
essential to retain and increase customer base in this increasingly
competitive local service environment."
