Aloha Alohal,

I saw that exchange. So? LT's obviously got an ax, and so have you; but I'd think that occasionally you might try to set aside your checkered history with each other to discuss the facts. Luc seems willing. How about you?

I don't have an ax either way, so for now you might consider me a disinterested observer. I have to date contributed nothing here, in part because I've been put off by all the cheerleading clutter -- on this and so many other boards. Truth be told, I mostly lurk on SI nowadays. Should I apply to receive sanction from the thread's keepers? <sg>

I hold no position in DELL, but as such an important bellweather, Dell is obviously too significant to ignore. What I see is a company with very strong cash flow, but one which also seems to be experiencing margin and revenue pressure. No one can deny Dell's success to date; it continues to crush its competition. But 56x 1/00 EPS and 41x estimated 1/01 earnings are not multiples I'm inclined to pay for a company who's growth seems to be decelerating. The market is clearly showing its reservations -- the stock's done nothing this year. (The price of gold is about flat with year-end too. <g>)

So, to return to the original point, I am interested in opinions as to whether this recent slowdown is a headfake, or a secular decline in DELL's growth potential.

Regards,
John
