Volume = 305 K Today! -- I'd stopped paying attention to BIPL. But today's atypical high volume woke me up. Biopool is definitely being accumulated. On the cheap. Without checking anything, I decided to finally dump BIPL today. (I've had it for years, bought it way too high. I think it was one of David Alan Cook's picks, on CANSLIM) I put in a day order before the market opened. Limit 15/16. Despite the big volume and tight range, my order never filled. So tonight I checked the SEC reports. The SC13D of 12/20/99 and the SC 13D/A of 1/5/00 tell the story.freeedgar.com ------------------ Since 10/29/99, an Australian company named Biotech International Limited has been buying Biopool almost daily, in small lots, at prices from 82.250 cents through 93.750 cents. As of the 1/5/00 filing, they've accumulated 614,200 shares -- 7.41% of the company. Now that I know this, I have no intention of giving up any shares. And I hope people stop giving them away cheap. --------- Excerpts from the the SC 13D: Biotech International develops, manufactures and sells human and veterinary diagnostics. It also is in the process of developing an industrial paper bleach enzyme for eventual manufacture and sale. Its operations are based in Australia. In its last fiscal year a large proportion of its sales of products were to overseas markets.... All of the Common Stock acquired by Biotech International has been purchased on the OTC Bulletin Board market on various dates. Biotech International acquired the Common Stock with a combination of cash on hand and borrowed funds. The borrowed funds were loaned to Biotech International in the ordinary course of business pursuant to a general credit facility provided to Biotech International by the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited. .... Biotech International acquired the Common Stock of the Issuer to gain an investment interest in the Issuer. In the course of strategic planning, Biotech International has determined to increase its investment in the Issuer.... --------------------- Regards to all, Cheryl
