andy...re: "perception" if you haven't noticed today's markets are not those that embrace buffett and graham...it's all about managing "perceptions" and stock price...if i speak folly, then why is there not a mad rush to buy the "value" of dell....... not saying i agree with the state of an illogical market, but i can't ignore what i see on a daily basis...e.g amzn still hanging on, sans profit, because of a "perception" that their failing business model is actually a "new way to market"..... business is reality, stock market is perception....and the perception and expectations are more exagerated now then ever... wouldn't hurt "mikey" to speak more of dell future and its transition into markets that the market would embrace....box making doesn't make it, for the share price...... one thing to manage a "perception" based on reality to deliver, another to spin the unreal as ep/cpq, you can do both, look at jacobs/qcom.......are you telling me "mikey" has nothing in the pipeline to boast about...what happened to the big push into the consumer market with new "stylish" products...msd spoke early this year of a wintel imac....tis the season to be advertising....
