Oh man am I glad to hear that from at least one person. Imo Ariba is following cmrc on almost every level except user interface technology, and the street is getting snowed by it. 2 years ago Hoffman declared that cmrc would be a fee-based transaction system and everybody sneered at that, now finally Ariba is following suit. I can tell from this auction announcement from cmrc that they are chipping away at an eventual interface into the ERP purchasing schedule that gets generated after demand bom explosion. They have a VP engr at commerce who came from Jeff Walker's org at Oracle (enterprise apps), thats how she knows what to do here. Ariba has people who come from Next. I don't know... I'm certainly in the minority thinking cmrc is ahead... but can Ariba do auctions or not?
