QwikSand,

Funny thing, I was just having the same thoughts
myself. All I came up with is that some people
cling to their beliefs because they need something
to believe and can't fathom the idea that they may
just be wrong.

As we both know, this has been a long time coming
(like 3 years), and the payoff is going to be really
big. I'm not sure why Sun bears refused to believe
that Sun Microelectronics was capable of delivering
the same or higher quality technology than any of
its competitors. I've never seen a semiconductor
rule-book of marketing stating that a company must
manufacture an off-the-shelf product in order to
stay competitive in the price-performance arena.

Because Sun has decided to do all the manufacturing
in-house, we have more control over the end-product.
We have Sun Microelectronics to thank for good QA
and timely execution. Look at the problems INTC
is having.

Wintel's hegemony has been compromised by their own
manufacturing inefficiencies and poor QA. I agree
with you, Sun now needs to move in for the kill.

I vote for triple-digit P/E for SUNW within this FY.

cheers,
cherylw
