<i didn't mean the wave file, i meant composing a new email message
simply by speaking into the phone(voice to text).>

So, you are saying that GMGC can do dictation from a cell phone? I'd say no. All they can do is record your voice on a .wav file and let the e-mail receiver listen to it like voicemail.

If they could do this, they would be an entirly different type of company. Something like L & H or Dragon. Even Nuance can't do dictation. At this stage and it does change, the files required to do dictation need to be speaker dependent. Dragon for example creates a file of nearly 20 megabytes for ever user. The system simply doesn't work unless you train it.

Compare that to a system like Portico where anyone dials up and expects it to work immediately. There is not specific user speech file. It has a smaller vocabulary and they must deal with a lot of noise and perhaps a poor microphone. The speaker independent IVR needs to have a smaller vocabulary.

So, it's hard to say that you could actually write the letter you want. Even with a good computer and good software dedicated to speak dependent dictation, you'll not get a satisfactory result without editing.

Mark
