richard:
I got into RMBS @ 60 on Sep 28. What was expected form Intel was 820, 840 and CuMine announced on 10/28 and delivery in NOV. It is now Nov 12 and the best Intel can promise us in late DEC or early JAN for anything that has RDRAM in it if at all. As many other posters pro and con have advised the longer RDRAM is delayed the more alternatives will take RDRAM market share. Personally, I am giving Intel Monday to lay the rollout of 820 and 840 with RDRAM on the table. Any more faltering in delivery will not be tolerated by analysts following RMBS.
Anything you have seen in COMDEX planner was information prepared earlier. I have yet to see any RDRAM based designs get anywhere near to shipping dates. However, more SDRAM based designs using 810e, 820 and even 840 are clearly on their way.
