I wonder how could ATHM be doing any better if T can't keep up with the installation and the marketing. It is mostly T's job to market the service and its truck to install the service. I received two flyers side by side in my mail box.
@Home is offering free installation and one month free.
PacBell is offering $195 installation and $49 a month thereafter with less bandwidth. I wonder which service most people will sign up? For me, it's a no brainer to go with ATHM.

I hope, like you, that the story does not amount to much. The stock price today did not seem to notice. Maybe we are giving the article more credence than it deserves. But if the perception gets out that Big Daddy Warbucks T is abandoning Little Orphan ATHM, we could be in for a brutal broadband Christmas. It's a hard knocks life, for us longs.
