It may not be such a big deal, but who knows. Here's Reuters on the subject.

Reuters, Friday, November 12, 1999 at 16:30

NEW YORK, Nov 12 (Reuters) - IBM (NYSE:IBM), a major software
developer and the No. 2 online advertiser, along with
DoubleClick, which operates an online ad network, and several
partners said on Friday they planned a "major joint
announcement" on Monday.
Net Perceptions Inc. (NASDAQ:NETP) and net.Genesis Corp., makers
of online direct marketing software, and other partners were
also included in a statement detailing the planned announcement
on Monday in San Francisco at a Web marketing conference.
The companies said they would make the announcement via a
conference call during the Personalization Summit, a conference
sponsored by Net Perceptions to address the role of
personalization marketing.
DoubleClick, which was trading 17 points higher in late
afternoon trading ahead of the news advisory, added another $10
in active trading to close at 167-1/16, up 27-7/16 on the
Nasdaq stock market on Friday.
Net Perceptions added 5-5/8 to close at 33-7/8 on the
Nasdaq. IBM ended the day at 95-7/8, up 3/4 of a point on the
New York Stock Exchange.
An IBM spokesman said the advisory was inadvertently
released. "This is not an announcement of some merger deal.
It's just going to be an announcement to develop a Web solution
for personalized marketing," IBM spokesman Glenn Hintze said.

Participating in the call will be Karl Salnoske, vice
president of electronic commerce for IBM Global Services, the
computer consulting arm of the world's largest computer maker.
He will be joined by executives of net.Genesis, Net Perceptions
and DoubleClick's Tech Solutions.

All, IBM and NETP makes me happy!

As an IBM employee, I wish I could take credit,
but I'm content holding lots of NETP - my
portfolio of 5 stocks is up over 19% today,
with NETP being a big part of that!

Thank you stockman_scott for your mention
of NETP in the Dell thread several months
ago, you have made me lots of money...

I just saw NETP go by on CNBC's ticker (after market)
at 34.5, which is up nicely from the close :-)
