Net Perceptions Founders Honored With Prestigious World Technology
Award For Commerce

======================================================================
Personalization Pioneers Considered 'Global Leaders Who Most Contribute To The
Advance of Emerging Technologies for the Benefit of Business and Society,

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Net Perceptions, Inc. (NASDAQ:NETP)
today announced that three of the company's founders have received the
first-ever World Technology Award for Commerce, held in association with The
Economist magazine and sponsored by Booz-Allen & Hamilton.
Net Perceptions executives Brad Miller, vice president of product
development; John Riedl, chief scientist; and Steven Snyder, president and
CEO, received the award earlier today at a ceremony in London at the National
Museum of Science & Industry. They were judged among the individual leaders
worldwide who most contributed to the advance of emerging technologies for the
benefit of business and society. In 1996, Miller, Riedl and Snyder, along with
David Gardiner and Joe Konstan, founded Net Perceptions, the leader in
supplying realtime personalization solutions that enable businesses to market
to customers on a true one-to-one basis.
"I speak for Brad and John when I say that we are deeply honored to be
presented with the World Technology Award for Commerce," Snyder said. "To be
recognized for our contributions to business and society by founding Net
Perceptions and leading the research and development of personalization
technology is not only exciting for us but a challenge to make sure that we
continue to innovate."
The World Technology Network's annual awards program honors work by
leaders in 20 different award categories, including industries such as
information technology, biotechnology, media and journalism, commerce and
ethics.
The nominators and judges for the World Technology Awards include
respected peers of the finalists and winners throughout the world of science,
business and society.
Other finalists for the World Technology Award for Commerce included Jeff
Bezos, founder of Amazon.com; Danny Lewin and Tom Leighton, co-founders of
Akamai Technologies Inc.; Stephan Schambach, founder of Intershop
Communications; and Richard Stallman, creator of the Free Software Foundation,
who -- along with all of the World Technology Award finalists and judges in
all categories -- were also inducted as members in the World Technology
Network.
"The honorees of this very special millennium year World Technology Awards
have all exhibited actions and made contributions that will continue to make
an impact with technology for years to come," said James P. Clark, founder and
chairman of the World Technology Network. "In the new millennium, the
finalists and the winners of these awards will be the Edisons, the Fords and
the Pasteurs creating the 'ripple effects' that will change our future."
Last May, Net Perceptions also received the first Massachusetts Institute
of Technology Sloan E-Commerce Technology Innovator Award. The award was
presented for demonstrating the greatest potential to further revolutionize
Web-based commerce.
