Do you remember those crazy do-it-home-by-groping setups? Drying the negatives in the bathroom?

Let's hear it for Stieglitz and Georgia! If we start going into photography, I can grow dangerous, even if one hand is immobilized....

Cinema and stills are two different things. But even if I take photography more seriously, I am not sure that Stieglitz is great enough. I saw a show of Man Ray's photograhs at the Phillips a couple of years ago that were far more interesting than anything I ever saw of Stieglitz, and a show of Richard Avedon's photos at the Whitney several years ago that had amazing impact, again, far more than Stieglitz. So some of it is, yes, my sense of the place of photography, but some of it is,well, just Stieglitz....I will check out RTev's list again, if you think it is important....
