Hello Peter, I am glad you took the initiative. Again! Ok! So let's get the WINd show on the road... I will start with the names of three companies whose products use VxWorks operating system: 1) Terayon (TERN) 2) Digital Lightwave (DIGL) 3) Brocade Communication Systems (BRCD)Terayon: This company from my research has the hottest selling cable modem in the Tera Pro. According to the company, the Tera Pro has had a minimum need for after sales customer service because of it's ease of use. But then we wouldn't expect anything less for a cable modem that uses VxWorks OS, would we?Digital Lightwave This little company from Clearwater, Florida is in the business of manufacturing mostly portable products that can help in the monitoring and maintainance of optical fibre networks, presently the hottest sector in the stock market. The prediction is that the entire worlds' copper wire based telecommunication infrastructure will eventually have to be switched to an optical based system. The growth potential for companies which today are on the ground floor of this emerging technology shift, is enormous. Digital Lightwave's products are also run on VxWorks. This stock has been on a tear lately going from a low of $7.50 on October 11th. of this year to today's closing price of $30.88! An almost 300% run in one month!Brocade Communication Systems This company had one of the hot IPO's of this year. It provides hardware (SAN switches) and software solutions for data storage systems based on the Fibre Channel technology. Even though it uses VxWorks OS in it's switches, I think at the present time, it's competitor Ancor Communications has a better suite of products and as an investment I have put my money in Ancor (ANCR). Plus I am not too crazy about Brocade's management team. But because I strongly believe that products that use VxWorks will have a competitive advantage in the market place, I will keep Brocade on my watch list. Good Luck with your new thread! Regards, Karim
